Do Tricks, Get Chicks

Do Tricks, Get Chicks. That was the plan.
Our photo shoot in our secret location was lacking a bit of snow... After a few wheel barrow trips hunting for snow we set up our fist jib which was a jump over a fence to drop, I was up first, not knowing the speed I came up a little short landing on a sleeper. Second attempt got it perfect, sessioned that for a few hits then moved on. A few crew came across from Buller and had a shred as well, fun times.
Our second feature was at least 25m long, it was a wooden flat rail. It was so sick but a bitch to get to the end, we all played around on that for a while before we got into some grass boarding.
By the end of the day we were covered in mud, rolling with new balla watches thanks to Lee Ponzio our photographer and Rep for Alive Athletics Australia and stoked we got a few sweet shots. Will Kendal from Third Chapter was getting the angles with the video came, stay tuned for some footage. Cheers Lee and Will.
Our location was a bit to secret and the chicks couldn't find it.Plan fell through

Episode 3 Weekend Warriors from Shaun Belmore on Vimeo.

One other thing, I keep forgetting to post, a few weeks back I broke my hand and wrist in a fight in the city. My self and my mate got jumped by 8 guys for no reason they might of been wog...not pointing any fingers, lol. They came off second best anyway. Had an Xray today just to make sure healing is on track, should be good as gold in a few weeks. So if you see me with a splint on my hand, not grabbing with my right hand or falling over awkwardly is because of my wrist. Or not doing really cool shit, I'll blame that on it to.
Peace

OneHitWonder

Good news, I just received a call from Tim Myers and I'm in the OneHitWonder comp at Thredbo!
Pretty stoked about this. Last year I rode in the comp but unfortunately at the time I had a torn ACL and was unable to do the whole comp and ride to my full potential. This year is different.

I've got a few tricks in mind that I'm going to do, I'v been waiting all season to hit a decent jump and cant wait to get some new tricks!

STYLEWARS

2010 Stylewars once again was more of a party than a competition. The weather was not on our side, we couldn't hit the jumps at all due to the intense fog and wind. I got to check out the course and it looked unreal.

Pretty annoyed we didn't get to hit them.
After a few days of partying and killing time Thursday night came around and it was time for the Rail Jam!

Rode ok in the comp, landed a few big trick like front270 and switch inward270 over the kink as well as a few tech tricks like switch frontlip to frontboard. Could of rode more consistent though. The conditions made the comp pretty challenging, it was snowing extremely heavy which made it hard to see.

Chillin with the Third Chapter Crew in Hotham

Myself and Belmore headed over to Hotham for a weekend filled of shovelling with Tim and Rainer.
Liam Kaska with his camera and Will Kendel with the video camera were ready to shoot and get the shots. We started off building a step-down back country jump over the back side of Hotham, sessioned that for a little while, I managed to get a pretty sweet backside rodeo off it.
Next up we found a sweet A-Frame metal jib in a junk yard, set it up and messed around on that for awhile before getting in some 4wding. The next day we went back over where our jump was and set up another stepdown, this thing was sweet, could of been perfect if there was just a little bit more snow. Later that night we got some shots using a stump, tabletop and a little landing.
Thanks to Will Kendel,Liam Kaska and Rainer for the weekend!

Mountain Dew

Was stoked to be apart of the 2010 Mountain Dew Hut comp!
Ride selected myself and Kieran McLaughlin to represent them in the comp, hadnt ridden with Kieran before but I'd hear a lot of good things.
By the end of the night I was stoked on how myself and kieran rode, he kills it.
With having a broken wrist and hand I was trying to be pretty careful but I felt comfortable enough to throw a few big tricks like a back rodeo off the far up box on the roof gaping to flat. The Oakley team came through with the goods taking first place and Decampo scored the Gatorade rookie prize congratulations to the NZ boys and Chris. The results showed that we came 6th.

From a good day to a funny night to a shit day

So what do you do after a good day of shreding with some money in your hand?
You go out and party! Thats exactly what I did, cought up with a few mates in the city and got loose.
Long story short myself and my mate Zac got jumped by around 8 guys(wogs) for noreason in the middle of the city on the way home, ended up doing alright for ourselves which resulted in them running away, had a few laughts about it after then when to the strippers.
Come the next day both our hands were pretty sore and swolen, after an xray, I had broken my hand and wrist and my mate broke his finger in two places. Got a cast put on and bobs ur uncle, good as gold. Mt Dew comp in one week!

Forum Rail Jam at Baw Baw

Headed up to Baw Baw with Belmore for the Forum Rail Jam this weekend. The event was dope once again and the weather didn't let us down. The comp was run with two heats of around 20 people, 8 riders from each heat went through to finals. I managed to get through to the finals. I felt like I rode pretty consistent and landed a few good tricks which managed to score me 2nd place! I walked away with $500 in $5 notes a rad artillery box, skull candy headphones and some T's.

So what its been like 3 months since my last post, shit my bad. Been sooper busy.
Whats news: 1. had our premier for Spare Change By Wetsocks Productions, went super well had a massive turn out and was stoked on my part, managed to get the closing part! After party was just as good, sent it.

2. Got shots run in all the first issues of Transfer, snowboarder and snowboarding magazines, I'll scan them and chuck them up when I can.
3.When I try to think about whats been going on I cant remember.
4. Season has started at Buller not much snow but cant complain, mini park on Burk Street bit of fun.
5. Had qualification for the Burton Cattlemans rail jam, made it through and competed in the final, unfortunately my binding broke first hit but managed to keep riding with the help of Nick Reichstein finding some zip ties and doing his best to hold my foot in place. Rode pretty mellow in the comp but put down a few good tricks.

6. After party in Kooroora was pretty dope, big turn our of riders and friends as well as the people responsible for keep the snowboarding industry going. It was awesome to see big dogs them self Ryan Stanistreet from Rusty, Scott Gosden from Ride and Steve Watts from Ballistyx getting their drink on and having a good time.

7. Think that's it...

Coming to an end

OK so competed in my first comp since my knee reco a few weeks ago at Key Stone, it was the Peanut Butter, Volcom Rail Jam. The set up was a flat barrel a down rail and an angled box. There was a massive turn out of riders forcing there to be 3 heats for open men's, I made finals which I was pretty stoked on, except I had to leave before the final because I borrowed a car and needed to return it before 3pm. The next day was a slopestyle comp at Breck for Spring massive the course consisted of a flat down box to a 25ft to a 35-40ft jump then a long down bar then a kink rail. My first run I kooked it and fell on a cab underflip 720, some reason I couldn't land my stock tricks so I mellowed it out and went front 360 to double backflip and stomped it. Didn't make top 3 and there wasn't a best trick division...gay. The results arnt up yet.
Spring is defiantly underway here in Colorado, Breckenridge has now closed along with the other mountains.
Today we all started cleaning the house and packing up our things, I'm heading to Boulder on Wednesday since our rent runs out to chill out for 9days with a few friends. Here's some photos of whats been going on lately.

Road Trip

After spending a week in Tahoe with Tyson, Belmore, Woods, Ash, Maddie, Madison and Caitlin at Caitlins house we mannaged to get a bit of filming done for our moive and cut a few laps at Northstar. Most days we headed up to Donner Pass and set up features and filmed, we set up a sweet wallride and a pretty big booter off an old railway line bridge. We also hit a wooden kink rail that backed onto the lake and got a few good shots on that. It was a pretty dope week hanging with mates for spring break and filming. Here are some shots. Enjoy.

Fun Times

We were about to head home, I was waiting at the bottom of the pipe for Belmore to come down when Michaela said come do some hand plants on the quarter pipe, awesome idea have'nt done handplants in ages. Soon enough everyone was hitting it with us, Tim and Henry were getting shots and Belmore was filming it, the weather was perfect. Here are some photos of handplants, rodeos and some other kinds of spins.

DOUBLE BACKIES!!!!

After calling it yesterday that I was going to get a double back flip today I headed up the hill with Dhanu. The weather was epic, blue skies and fairly warm weather which made it pretty much perfect conditions apart from one factor, I never though the snow could be that quick and be a bad thing. It made it a bit of a challenge to get the speed right and made overshooting look like it was going out of fashion.

After back flipping every single jump in one run I was feeling good and decided it was time.
Back flipped the first jump and came into the second/last jump with a fair amount off speed and went for it. Got the grab and kept rotating then stomped it taking it deep on the landing. So stoked. Ended up stomping all of them and made them cleaner each time. Epic day.
I'll get some footage and chuck it up asap.
Peace

New Stunts

So over the past two snowboarding days I've managed to learn two new tricks. One being a Backside Rodeo and the other a Switch Backside Rodeo. I had a session at Woodward with a few of the boys and learnt a double back rodeo off the ramp into the foampit. Cant wait to get them down on snow as well as a double backflip! It's a big step up though.

Made it home!

After 2 weeks of getting back into snowboarding and getting tricks back we (Tyson, Belmore, Dhanu,Ash and Tim the photographer.) made the trip down to Boulder CO. Arriving late we decided to get some rest for an early start.
Friday morning bright and early we packed our gear and went to the first destination after meeting up with Stags and Woods, this was a barrel down bar exiting an underpass check photo. Tim was there taking photos, Stags was there filming for the Ballistyx Snowboard Show and we were also filming for our movie Spare Change (Wet Socks Productions).http://wetsocksproductions.blogspot.com/

Half way through a State Ranger rocked up questioning what we were doing but after some sweet talking she had no problem with it and even tried to help us out with different locations. The money shots were taken so we moved on.

The second spot was an up rail with a drop off the side located in a park, we all got to work setting it up, forming the run in the lip and setting up the Bungee Rope. The snow was perfect to make the lip but every minute after the heat was dramatically affecting the run in and was forming it into a wakeboard course. I managed to get the shot with the help of all the boys pulling the bungee and filming. Cheers bros.

We headed to the Dorms where the College students live to scope some features, found a few sweet hits but didn't end up hitting them, another time.

After a successful day a few of us decided to go out with our College friends to a few Frat parties and what not, good night.

Up early again but not as early as the day before, we all headed to a local school to hit a down rail with a decent size donkey dick on the end. Upon arrival we found that the in run was a lot smaller than expected and to make it worse it was right under a roof drainage pipe, so while strapping in we were standing under a waterfall. A few tricks were thrown and a few shots were taken and that was a wrap for our Boulder urban trip! We ended up making it home Saturday night at midnight.

Also some other photos of what I've been up to lately.

1st day at Breck

Got up early with the boys and headed up the hill. This was the first time I've been on my board since my surgery, I rode like a spastic at the start of the day with my new Ride DHtwo board. As soon as I got my feet back the board was amazing. It was a windy and cold day but my Rusty clothing did the job had no problems at all.
Taking it easy just to make sure my knee is alright, I just took a few hot laps then hit the pipe abit and a few box's. Everything is feeling great and cant wait to get back out tomorrow.

Final days passing time

Adding along side Ride Snowboards and Ashbury eye wear I'm super stoked to announce Rusty outerwear. Dropped into the shop in North Melbourne to pick up some gear just the other day and met up with Ryan and some of the Rusty crew. These guys are super stoked on pushing their company and I can't wait to be reping their company as well as Ride and Ashbury.
Also finding out that Romain De Marchi is riding for Rusty aswell and that we are the only two peole rocking the outerwear atm.

Flights have been booked for the 10th of Feb so only 5 days to go, can not wait.
